Putin: Russia fulfills almost all imports replacement goals

SOCHI, Dec 9 (PRIME) -- Almost all imports replacement goals have been fulfilled, but Russia needs to stay competitive, President Vladimir Putin said at a congress of young scientists late on Wednesday.

"Firstly, I'll be honest, we needed this imports replacement in the defense industry,” Putin said.

“We spent a lot of money and there is a good result. We have already solved almost all tasks (of imports replacement) that we set. They are not all reached yet – there are huge tomes of what should be done, but much has already been done. There are yet problems with microelectronics … We still have work to do, but the prospects are good."
